Surely His love will come find us.

Have you ever been lost?

I’m not talking while navigating a new city or finding directions to a new place. I mean, lost … in a wilderness with no idea of where to turn?

I’ve been feeling a little lost in the trees lately. They are big, lurking trees like chronic pain, financial insecurity and a chasm of unanswered questions. I can’t seem to see the sky above me or the paths around me.

But, I want to fully trust God. Surely, He is here in the fogginess of my circumstances, right?

Today I was listening to my iPod as I sat in a waiting room for another appointment, feeling so fearful that there would be no answers behind this door either. My hands were even shaking, so before the professional called me in I needed to regain some perspective.

The song that played first was Multiplied by Needtobreathe. I’ve always pictured that song as a worship ballad.  But today God spoke the words to my heart in a slightly different tune.

Your love is like radiant diamonds
Bursting inside us we cannot contain
Your love will surely come find us
Like blazing wild fires singing Your name

Surely He can find us when we are lost in our wildernesses. Surely He will arrive like a a blazing fire that can be seen from miles away.
Surely.
If you google this band and this song you will find it is a song about how much God loves us and how much we wish we could offer something of great value back to Him. So Needtobreathe sings:
May this offering stretch across the skies
And these Hallelujahs be multiplied
And I think that is the true purpose of this song. And that is how I want to worship. However, if I believe in a God so big and so powerful with a love so strong and so mighty than surely, I believe, his love will come find me like a blazing fire in the wilderness
And for that reason … I praise Him today!
Romans 5:8 says, “but God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
While I was lost in the wilderness He brought a blazing sign of His tremendous love for me – His Son on a cross. And then His Son rose from the grave to prove that there is nothing in this life can ever separate me from Him.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Share with us your go-to song for encouragement. Whose lyrics remind you of God’s huge love for you today?

One song that really reminds me of God’s love for me is “Who Am I” (Casting Crowns). If He’s willing to do all that for me, He must love me a lot:)

    • Definitely! “Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth would care to know my name? Would care to feel my hurt.”
When that song came out years ago I was amazed at the play on the words of the chorus. Not who I am but who He is; not because of what I’ve done but because of what He’s done. Very clever!
      Great song Heidi! Thanks.
